Companies, research institutes, and universities can donate their own useful biomaterials to the BOBIC by transferring ownership to the BOBIC.
However, donations can be limited if they are from unknown sources or if the ownership is not clear.
Donated biomaterials are preserved and managed in a systematic way and distributed to the general public.

Purpose
The BOBIC preserves donated materials for the long term and connects the donor and researchers so that they can share and study the materials.

Materials subject to donation
Materials suitable for donation are cultures, genetic resources (DNA, tissues), and natural products (natural raw materials, natural products).
Donation procedure

Prior arrangement

A preliminary review is made to check whether the applied materials can be donated. If the application is rejected, supplement the documents, and apply again.

A BOBIC registration number is given to the materials that pass the investigation.

Preservation
The materials are preserved at the storage facilities of the BOBIC.

Issuance of a deposit certificate
A donation certificate with the BOBIC registration number emailed to the donor.

※ 분류군별 기증표본의 중요성 및 상태, 수량에 따라 기증자 예우 외에 표본 제작비 일부를 지급할 수 있다
